Electro Technical Officer :-

About The Course :- 
It is a 17 weeks long fully residential presea training course followed by a minimum onboard training of 6 Months which is mandatory.This course will train candidates to take on the role of Electro Technical Officer aboard Merchant Ships. Talking about the course content, it mainly covers topics such as- Marine Electrical Systems, Marine Electronics Systems, Basics of Marine Engineering, Fire Prevention and Safety Technology.
Educational Qualification :- 
i) Passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English as separate subjects with minimum 50 % marks in English Language at 10th of 12th standard exam.
ii) Passed three years Diploma with 60% marks or four year’s Degree including lateral entry, with 50% marks in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication / Communication Engineering, or Electronics and Instrumentation or equivalent.
iii) The diploma /degree courses must have been recognized by any State or Central Government or the AICTE.
iv) Candidates who were admitted in Diploma course on the basis of Matriculation only and went to complete their B.E./ B. Tech degree course as a lateral entry in the 2nd year of the degree on the basis of Diploma, and has secured the degree in the disciplines mentioned at (II) of the above, are also permitted to be admitted in the ETO course provided he/she has secured a minimum of 50% mark in English as a separate subject during the Matriculation..

i)10+2 with PCM from a recognised Education Board & minimum 50% marks in English in 10th/12th and B-Tech in (EE/ ECE/ EEE/EIE) with 55%.
Age Limits :- 
The candidate must not exceed the maximum age limit of 35 years, however some companies has set the age limit to a maximum of 28 years at the time of commencement of the course.
Physical & Medical Standards :- 
Medically fit as per the standards set by Merchant Shipping Medical Examination Rules, 2000 as amended from time to time.
Eye-Sight :- 
Vision should be 6/12 in each eye without any visual aid and no colour blindness.
